Twitter RT and Follow Friday

What is RT? RT stand for re tweet
what some one has said on twitter.

Here is some thing I’ve re tweet on twitter. Why because I thought it was some thing good. All so I trusted Stan Faryna to RT him.

RT @Faryna According to 72.2 % of the U.S. population, Absentee Fathers is the most significant… problem facing America. Absentee Fathers

It isn’t good to keep re tweeting the same thing over and over again either.

Follow Friday is where you recommended your follower to other followers.

Now the thing is with follow friday followers are just RT what others have said this isn’t good at all. All so
people are just listing allot of names for people to follow. Which isn’t good at all. This could be consider spamming on Twitter.

Follow friday and Re tweeting some one should be done for several reason. But they should be done because you trust the person, you know some one personal or this person has brought some value into your life.

Follow friday you should recommended people that you know personal in real life. People who gotten to know very well on the internet. You should be able to trust them to. People will tend to follow other people’s followers on twitter if there is a short message why they should follow them.

I know I’ve followed my friends followers on twitter because of a short message. Doesn’t have to be big.

Could just read #followfriday @Faryna because he is a great guy.

Could just read #followfriday
@spreadingjoy she loves to spread joy
and puts smiles on ever ones faces.

or it could be like this @pbadstibner #followfriday he is very inspirational person.

Yes these are all people I follow and I consider them my friends. Yes I would RT them.

I all so have to say Twitter has updated there terms of services and will be cracking down on people who just Rt names and other things.

Thanks for looking at my blog and Please do leave a comments if you liked this blog. Have a great day.

Bonnie you touch so many lives with your encouraging tweets and realistic honesty. I know that you enrich my life daily though I have not been on Twitter as much as I would like to have been. You still manage to remember to say thanks.

I really am glad to follow you on Twitter and am honored you follow me back. I pray you will continue to be an inspiration to others.

Thanks for putting such difficult terms to a language in a way all can understand. I also thank you that you took the time to mention me

    God Bless

This is a great article Bonnie. I don’t do Follow Fridays anymore. That’s why I created a follow list that I keep posted on my UnHub and Posterous: http://tweepml.org/People-Who-Have-Enlightened-My-Life-1-of-2/

It’s not a popularity contest; and, I don’t do cliques. My list consists of people who have made my life a little brighter since I’ve met them.

You are definitely on the list.

    Cheers,
    Nong

      Hi Nong

Thanks very much for your comment to my
blog. I do understand about this not a popularity contest and don’t like the idea people do treat it like a popularity contest.
I’m honored to be on your list. I hope
to get to know you better Nong.

Great post Bonnie. I couldn’t agree with you more regarding Follow Friday and all the indiscriminate retweeting. Originally Follow Friday was a noble idea in which people would recommend one or two people they thought others should follow. Unfortunately, it has morphed into a numbers game and a popularity contest to see who can retweet the most names. I’m with you when you say to recommend people you know and trust and would retweet. Genuine and authentic.

Thank you again for bringing much needed attention to this issue. I’ll be sure to come back often to read your blog. Great job Bonnie.

    Kind regards,

    Marty

      Good Morning Marty

I’ve to say it is an honor to have you post to my blog.
Yes it is sad that it is all about numbers game and a popularity
contest to see who can retweet the most names. To I really don’t
see how these people can really follow all these people. I don’t even
see how they can interact with so many followers. Its not about numbers
its about being human and getting to know and understand the other person or
business that you decided to follow.

I’m glad you liked my blog. Hope to share some more blogs and ideas.

I wholeheartedly agree you shouldn’t just rt other peoples’ #ff’s. Whats the point of that?
I only ever rt stuff I’m genuinel;y interested in or amused by. Also I #ff people who I have got to know at least partly on Twitter.
    Great article.
